The department of Sports Medicine was started in July 2021 by the MEDPARK Hospital, Mohali. MEDPARK is the only hospital in the entire region to have started a n exclusive Sports Medicine department under Dr Satbir Singh, a Sports Medicine consultant and a Fitness expert Sports Medicine consultant and a Fitness expert from National Institute of Sports Patiala.
Dr Satbir Singh, completed his MBBS from AFMC, PUNE from 1994- 1999.
Then served as the Medical Officer in the AMC( Army Medical Corps) of the Indian army for 5 yrs. He joined NIS, PATIALA, FOR HIS POSTGRADUATION IN SPORTS MEDICINE, from June 2005 – June 2007. and at the end of the tenure, he did his super specialisation in FITNESS AND CONDITIONING for sports and got a DISTINCTION in that course.
